This wiki is being posted for instructions and information for my Arduino Class Projects.

Welcome to this introduction to using a microcontroller. There will be many opportunities to learn new information, new skills, and to get new experiences. I encourage you to take advantage of as many opportunities as you can. The amount of knowledge and experience that you'll take away from the class will depend on how much time and effort you put into the exercises. Some of the benefit involves thinking about things, and discussing them with others in class (you can't get the same benefit from watching youtube, and you can't copy their feedback from a website :-). The more effort you put into your learning, the more you will learn. (And, the more techniques you learn and add to your toolbox of knowledge, the more elegant your solutions will be when you have a problem or a puzzle to solve.

When I bought my parts kit for the original class, the quote included on my shipping parts list was this;

     "When you learn, teach, when you get, give"  -- Maya Angelou

I thought this quote was the perfect launching point for preparing for this class. I only know the things that *I* know because someone else made the effort to teach a class, to write a book, or to spend time explaining something to an interested kid. And, realizing that, I'm putting this class together to help pay back the time and effort that those earlier people made, because their effort helped me to become the person I am today.  :-) 

I'll close by reminding you that the knowledge learned here, about microcontrollers, about sensors and wiring, about the libraries and coding, will all make it easy for you to better understand how things were built in our Internet of Things (especially in the early days, before encryption and security needs started to be incorporated. Have fun with the knowledge!
